At Dolz, sustainability is not just a goal—it’s a responsibility. As part of our strategy, we are proud to announce that 25% of the energy powering our operations already comes from renewable sources significantly reducing our carbon footprint.

The Commission presented Europe’s new 2030 climate targets, including a proposal for amending the Renewable Energy Directive, on 14 July 2021. It sought to increase the 32% target to at least 40% renewable energy sources in the EU’s overall energy mix by 2030.

DOLZ’s robust investment and growth strategy play a significant role in the energy transition and the systematic decarbonization, aiming for net zero by the year 2040.

Our purpose gives us a vision to aspire to, but turning it into reality requires a clear plan. To build on this progress, Dolz has set a bold goal: sourcing 100% of our energy from renewable sources by 2028. This transition follows a structured plan:

  • 2025: 25% of our total energy consumption will come from renewable sources, marking the first major milestone in our transition.
  • 2026: We will double this share to 50%, significantly reducing our dependence on non-renewable energy.
  • 2027: Our renewable energy usage will rise to 75%.
  • 2028: We will achieve 100% renewable energy—two years ahead of our initial target.

By accelerating our shift to clean energy, we are reinforcing our long-term commitment to sustainability, lowering our carbon footprint, and contributing to a greener future for the automotive industry.

Beyond our own operations, we are also working with our global suppliers and partners to drive emissions reductions throughout our supply chain, addressing all ‘Scopes’: 1, 2 and 3 and reinforcing sustainability as a core value of our business.

Why Renewable Energy Matters in Manufacturing?

Manufacturing is a highly energy-intensive sector, relying heavily on electricity and fuel for production, transportation, and facility operations. This dependence on non-renewable energy sources drives up operational costs and increases environmental impact.

Antonio Tarí, Chief Operating Officer, emphasizes the significance of this milestone, stating: ” This achievement reflects our commitment to reducing our environmental impact while ensuring operational efficiency and competitiveness in an increasingly eco-conscious industry”.

To make progress on reducing Scope 3 emissions, which include supply chain emissions, we are employing a number of complementary strategies.  These include actively engaging with suppliers and incorporating sustainability requirements.

Measuring Our Impact: CDP and Sustainability Reporting

Transparency and accountability are fundamental to our sustainability strategy. That’s why Dolz actively participates in the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), a global initiative assessing companies on their environmental impact and climate strategies. By aligning our renewable energy transition with CDP reporting, we ensure our commitments are measurable, verifiable, and aligned with international standards.

Through CDP, we track key metrics such as greenhouse gas emissions, energy efficiency improvements, and the long-term benefits of our green energy investments.

Industrias Dolz holds the ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System (EMS) certification at its Almazora (Spain) plant, which spans 25,000 m². This certification reflects our commitment to environmental responsibility and is seamlessly integrated with our ISO 9001 Quality Management System, reinforcing our dedication to both quality and sustainability. By adhering to these rigorous frameworks, Dolz ensures continuous improvement, regulatory compliance, and the adoption of best practices in all our processes.

By embracing continuous innovation and responsible business practices, we aim to provide premium aftermarket solutions that contribute to a more sustainable world, ensuring compliance with sustainability regulations.
